I should probably play catch-up with all that has happened in the last year and a half, but I'm sooooo excited to share pictures of our new family organization center that I'll just do quick bullet points.
- Jeremy graduated seminary.
- We moved to the CUTEST TOWN EVER! Seriously. It's adorable.
- He's a pastor of two fantastic churches.
- I landed my dream job teaching kindergarten full-time at the local parochial school.
- We both work within walking distance of our house.
- We bought a house!
- We remodeled almost everything in the house!
- Micah is in first grade and made a couple great friends.
- Liliana is in preschool and hasn't bit anyone all year.
- We have two cats, Sonic and Chloe.
- We're going through the foster care licensing process with the intent to foster to adopt a sibling set, ages 7 or under (initially planned on just babies or toddlers, but feeling our hearts pulling towards those harder to place).
Then it hit me.
Before-
This is actually WAY before! Like before we even owned the house when we were getting a tour of it. The laundry is behind those closet doors. |
After-
Ta-da!!!! I am so in love! Is that from Pinterest? Nope, that's my house! Squeeee!!!!! Each member of our family has a door with a chalkboard, mail/paper sorter, and magnet board. I looked to purchase mail sorters but nothing was exactly right, so I made them. Here's a closer look:
But don't look too close, because my stitching is ALWAYS sloppy. ;) The magnet boards are sheets of metal with paper mod-podged over them and Ric Rac hotglued on.
I mod podged little circles of the paper onto magnets so we've got polka-dot magnets to match the polka-dot mail sorter. These are the things that make me absolutely giddy.
Not only is the family organizing center cute...but it was completely needed. Now hopefully I won't lose Micah's math homework again! And I'll complain about our weird eat-in kitchen/laundry room/entry a little less next time you come to visit!
